When the Canon 24-105mm II came out I was able to test two copies against two copies of the Sigma 24-105mm. A few observations: Autofocus on the Canons was more precise, but the Sigma was good for the Art range and the f/4 maximum aperture meant that slight misfocuses did not result in an out of focus image. Overall a win for Canon.

Get the RF 24-240 because you mentioned the magic keyword travel! Use the 50mm f/1.8 for astro now and consider a wider fast astro prime later. For macro, you need to find something acceptable as RF 24-240 ain't a macro lens. The RF 35mm macro has only 0.5x magnification and costs a lot for a 35mm lens.
Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L is USM Lens. This is a great default lens. This is the lens you keep on your camera because with it you are ready for most anything. Much like it's L-Series 24-105mm f/4 predecessor, but with improvements; It has a programmable band around the lens that can be set to control any function.
